Artist's Statement

I am a self-taught painter obsessed by the natural world; English landscapes, the rain forests of Asia and Central and South America and, more recently, the Sahara desert. I have been on expeditions to Malaysia, North Borneo, Java, Indonesia, Panama, Dominica, and Belize. My paintings can now be found in collections worldwide.

I have exhibited regularly at the Royal Horticultural Society, from which I received a number of awards, including two gold medals. In 1980 I produced the design for a Chelsea commemorative plate and in 2000 painted a fan for the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

I had my first one-man show in Plymouth in 1981 and have subsequently had shows in London and many other locations around the UK. Venues for overseas shows have included Jamaica, Florida and New York.
